Sharon has worked for Birmingham Jewish Community Care for over 35 years, in many different areas. She worked as the Senior Social Worker gaining her degree in 2010 and has, since January 2019, been the Registered Manager of Andrew Cohen House. She is a key point of contact for community liaison for the whole organisation. She has built up good relationships with many different professionals in the wider community, which include the Local Authority and Clinical Commissioning Group. In May 2020 she added to her role by becoming the CEO of Birmingham Jewish Community Care.
Business and Finance Manager
Kirsty has worked for Birmingham Jewish Community Care for 16 years following a career in Hospitality Management spanning roles from restaurant management through to the financial management of a 4 star city hotel.
Kirsty was originally employed by BJCC, and has recently joined the senior management team at Andrew Cohen House. Her key role is within the Finance Department ensuring the continued viability of the charity as a whole.
Chinwe Akor joined the BJCC in 2017. She has extensive experience in human resources management both in the UK and abroad. She is currently working with the management and the staff of BJCC in applying her skills and knowledge to achieve organizational goals. Chinwe holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) UK, and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). Chinwe is team-focused, family-oriented, and keen on agile strategic solutions for achieving dynamic organizational objectives.
Peter joined the organisation in 2009 as the Estates Manager. He comes with a wealth of experience in Fire Safety having served with West Midlands Fire Service for over 30 years. On retirement he supported them, as part of their community initiatives with SureStart Nurseries, where he was the Home Safety Advisor. Peter took over the management of the Housekeeping team approximately 2 years ago and he is supported in the Estate management department by an assistant.
A qualified nurse since 1975 and Mental Health Trained in 1979 with the idea that I would return to General Nursing once I had my qualification. However, I very quickly found my niche and stayed working in Mental Health as a Ward Manager at the QEPH for many years.
When I left the NHS I have worked at Compton Hospice and then in both Home Manager and Deputy roles within the Private Sector and consider myself blessed that after 45 years in my chosen Profession I am still passionate and driven - and even more fortunate that I am now working with a great Team at ACH.
Clinical lead Nurse
Gowthami qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1998 in India. She worked for approximately 4 years in intensive care before embarking on a move to the United Kingdom where she settled with her family.
Prior to moving to Andrew Cohen House in 2016, she worked in Care Homes within the locality and enjoys working with Older adults. She is a senior member of the nursing team, taking responsibility for medication management.
